Evia, Greece

Authentic Greek atmosphere and a relaxed beach holiday in the heart of Evia

Enjoy an authentic Greek holiday on the island of Evia!
Lefkandi offers a long sandy beach, traditional tavernas, and a warm village atmosphere — close to amenities yet blissfully free from mass tourism.
In ancient times it was known as the “Fountain of Youth,” and even today Lefkandi provides a peaceful, safe, and relaxed setting for your vacation.

Why choose Lefkandi

  • Lefkandi is a small seaside village whose population grows significantly during the summer months.
  • At its heart lies a 2-kilometre sandy beach, offering both quiet natural stretches and areas with amenities such as sunbeds and beach bars.
  • Authentic Greek village atmosphere — idyllic yet practical
  • A 2 km long sandy beach and seafront promenade
  • Cafés, tavernas, a bakery, and mini-markets within walking distance
  • Great connections to different parts of the island: nature trails, historical sites, and neighbouring villages
  • A short trip to Vasiliko and Chalkida — perfect if you want a livelier nearby town or the island’s capital for a change of pace

Lefkandi’s charm lies in its simplicity: everyday local life blends naturally with the relaxed rhythm of holidaymakers. You won’t find large hotel complexes or tourist-oriented shopping here — just genuine, effortless Greek coastal living.

Evia – all of Greece on one island

Evia is Greece’s second-largest island and a wonderfully diverse destination — often said to contain everything Greece has to offer. On Evia you can experience:

  • Beautiful beaches and crystal-clear waters
  • Historical sites and ancient heritage
  • Impressive mountain landscapes, gorges, and forested hiking trails
  • Charming villages and authentic local life
  • Lively nightlife in the towns and coastal areas

The island is not a mass-tourism destination, but primarily a holiday escape cherished by Greeks themselves. Evia is easy to reach via two bridges from mainland Greece as well as several ferry routes. Lefkandi is centrally located near the bridges and main roads, making day trips around Evia — and even to the mainland — effortless.

Across the strait, the mainland offers plenty to explore — and just a couple of hours away you’ll even find the Parnassos ski resort rising to nearly 2,500 metres. On Evia, you can combine beach days and mountain adventures in the very same holiday.

The property is available for booking from April 3, 2026 onwards.

The house is located right by the sea, with a swimming beach, beachside restaurants, and all essential amenities just steps away.

Your Finnish host, Kari Wahlström, will assist you with all practical matters. Kari can also arrange a rental car directly from the airport. (kari.wahlstrom@hotmail.fi)

The island combines:

  • mountainous landscapes and green valleys

The island is also known for its biodiversity: on one side, the Aegean Sea is more rugged and dramatic, while the mainland coast offers gentler beaches and port towns. There are endless day trip destinations and beaches.

Lefkandi is a lively and traditional seaside village on the western coast of the island of Evia. Everyday life and holiday atmosphere blend effortlessly here: cafés, tavernas, and small shops operate year-round, even during quieter seasons.
